Many golfers are waiting to play a round of golf after the nationwide lock-down, and whilst golfers are longing for this return to satisfy the need to play, caddies are awaiting this return in order to start earning again.
Golf is known as a sport accessible to mainly those privileged enough to be able to afford to play. Caddies share a love for the game alike golfers, however they are not as privileged as the players and many are struggling to feed their families during this current crisis.
Some of the caddies have reached out to the LSGC for donations to be able to sustain themselves during this difficult time.
We have put together a collection drive to assist caddies, and to date we have collected R15000 and distributed 60 food hampers to caddies from Copperleaf, Pretoria West, Centurion, and Zwartkops Golf Clubs.
These food hampers cost R250 each and contain basic food essentials.
There are still many caddies that require assistance, and if you would like to join this initiative please make a contribution into our bank account with the details mentioned below.
